Since the release of Title Update 1.6.4 for EA Sports FC 26, the Clubs mode servers and matchmaking have gone completely downhill. Most players can't even connect to the servers to play a decent match with their friends. What's worse, this issue has been going on for days now, and EA still hasn't rolled out an official fix.
If you've been running into matchmaking failed errors, getting disconnected mid-game, or just straight-up locked out of all Clubs features over the last couple of days, don't go blaming your internet or setup. It's almost definitely on EA's end.

Here are the most common issues being reported across community forums, all specifically hitting Clubs mode:
1. Matchmaking Failed
Once your squad is all geared up in the lobby, the captain starts matchmaking, only for it to cancel itself a few seconds later with a "Matchmaking Failed" pop-up. A lot of players have tried sitting in the queue for over an hour without getting into a single match.
2. Infinite Search
In 5v5 Rush mode, hitting matchmaking just lands you in an infinite "Searching" loop. Even if you get lucky and find other players, the game will most likely freeze during the loading screen or just kick you back with a "Disconnected from server" message.
3. Unable to Connect
This is what most players are dealing with right now. The second you click on the Clubs tile, a pop-up instantly tells you: "Unable to connect to EA Servers. Please check your network connection." However, if you switch over to Ultimate Team or Seasons, everything works perfectly fine.
4. Ping Issues
Club Friendlies is somewhat playable, but the in-game ping spikes insanely. You'll constantly run into heavy packet loss, stuttering, and players teleporting all over the pitch.
Why Is This Happening?
This massive wave of Clubs server issues is mainly because the EA dev team tweaked some back-end matchmaking logic in the 1.6.4 patch. It’s highly likely that this change messed up the server data sync for Clubs, triggering these widespread connection failures.
Is There Any Fix?
While EA works on a hotfix, several community members have found a few workarounds that bypass these bugs. If you don't want to wait around for an official patch, here is what you can try:
1. Manually Update the Squad Database
Most matchmaking failures in Clubs are caused by a conflict between your local squads and the server database. Manually downloading the latest updates to sync them up can often fix the issue.
- How to do it: Back out to the main menu, go to Customise, click Edit Teams, and select Download Updates.
2. Launch Ultimate Team First
Hop into the Ultimate Team menu and just hang out there for 1 to 2 minutes. This forces the game to trigger a live data update. After that, head back to the main menu and try queuing for Clubs again.
3. Recreate the Lobby and Swap Captains
Have everyone in your squad completely close and relaunch FC 26. Then, recreate the Clubs lobby, make the player with the best/most stable internet connection the captain, and have them send out fresh invites to the squad.
4. Repair Game Files
Close FC 26 completely, then run a file repair on your gaming platform.
- Steam: Right-click on FC 26, select Properties, go to the Installed Files tab, and click Verify integrity of game files.
- EA App: Click on FC 26 to go to the game hub, click Manage, and select Repair from the dropdown menu.
What If the Issue Persists?
If you've tried all of the above and are still getting kicked or locked out, unfortunately, your only option is to wait for the EA dev team to roll out a new patch. In the meantime, you might just have to stick to other game modes that are actually working.
